![]() Steam isn’t the only player in the space of course, and while we don’t have direct insight into Oculus’ platform, the fact that the Rift is counted among the headsets in the Steam Hardware & Software survey-and that it’s holding a steady market share relative to other headsets on Steam-we suspect that VR users on Oculus’ platform are at or near a high point, and that the platform is seeing a similar growth trajectory. Data courtesy Valve | Mind the gap (seven months of erroneous data due to a Valve collection issue) ![]() Looking at the overall trend of VR users on Steam, growth actually appears to be on the upswing. That’s more than any prior month and 276% of VR users compared to 18 months prior. Using expanded and refined methodology which we detailed last month, Road to VR estimates that works out to just over 700,000 VR users on Steam over the course of November. ![]() In fact, in November there were more VR users on Steam than ever before.Īccording to the latest figures from the Steam Hardware & Software survey, 0.78% of all Steam users have VR headsets connected to their computers and are ready to play. Not only has the tech fostered a strong enthusiast community, but that group continues to grow. If they don't work for you but you find a new solution that does work, please let me know, it may help me too.A Road to VR analysis of the latest data from Valve’s Steam Hardware & Software shows that VR users on Steam have not only been growing, but are at their highest point in history.įirst generation VR hardware may not yet have had its mass adoption moment, but pundits claiming the end is near for VR are overlooking strong evidence against their claims. None of them worked for me but I hope one of them work for you at least. I couldn't find a definitive instruction of this solution, you gotta trial and error it. Set resolution to lower or higher, set the game to fullscreen or windowed or borderless windowed. Try fooling around with the resolution settings. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game a few times (this was recommended to me by a discord user) If you are overclocking your computer, don't. If you have a dedicated graphics card, enter your graphics card settings where you can set preferences for each program separately and make sure the game uses the dedicated one. Made some research about it and it turns out this crashing after a minute issue is a thing that can happen in UE4 games Possible solutions I found are: I asked the devs about it on the official discord server but even they couldn't help. I made a post here about this a few weeks ago, I have the exact same problem on my new laptop (it crashes after exactly one minute, including the time you spend in the menu). If you're also having this problem, go over to Windows Defender Firewall, click on Advanced Settings, go to outbound rules and create new outbound rules for both THG_DEMO_3.exe and THG_DEMO_3-Win64-Shipping.exe, to disable their internet access. I'm only posting here because I heard about mega-demo today (thanks guys!) and would prefer not to have the same issue with that.Īnybody else have this problem, and how did you fix it?ĮDIT fixed. The demo, VR and pancake, ran fine on my old PC, which barely met the minimum specs. My PC is above the recommended specs, so that's not a problem. The ship to ship option loads the inside for a few seconds, but then that crashes too. I tried the pancake version, and it does the same thing crashes before the ship is loaded. No error message, nothing, just shutdown to desktop. I load it up, press start, listen to Robin talk about his wife, and right before the ship loads in. I use the Oculus desktop app and wired link, if that helps at all. So a few weeks ago I bought a new PC, and of course felt obligated to play demo 3 in VR.
